Square Chess is published by DataEspresso (Christopher Ottesen, London, United Kingdom).
Summary
Square Chess does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. The app has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no Internet permission. Everything stays on your device.
Data stored on your device
- Games: the moves, results, clock times and settings of the games you play or record.
- Preferences: sound, vibration, board colour and similar display settings.
This data stays in the app’s private storage on your device. Android cloud backup is turned off for the app. If you uninstall the app, Android deletes this data.
Data you choose to share
The app sends nothing by itself. Data leaves your device only when you choose one of these actions:
- Share or export games (PGN or FEN): you select the destination, for example a file location, an email app or a cloud drive. The app that receives the file handles it under its own privacy policy.
- Report a bug or request a feature: the app prepares a message that you can read and change before you send it. Device diagnostics are included only if you turn them on. Your own email app sends the message to support@dataespresso.com. We use the message only to answer you and to improve Square Chess.
Children
Square Chess does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address with a new date.
