Square Words
A word game built around physical keyboards, compact screens and focused play.

Square Words is a free Android crossword word game designed around something that has become surprisingly unusual on modern phones: a real keyboard.
It is part of the same Square family as Square Chess and Square Sudoku, with a simple interface, offline play and support for devices that do not fit the usual tall touchscreen layout.

Made for a physical keyboard
Most mobile word games still assume that you will type using a keyboard drawn on the screen. That makes sense on a conventional phone, but it feels unnecessary when you already have a physical keyboard directly underneath it.
Square Words is designed around physical input from the start. The screen can concentrate on the board and the game while the keyboard does what a keyboard is good at. The interface also adapts to compact and unusual screen shapes rather than simply shrinking a layout designed for a large touchscreen phone.

Play your way
You can play against the computer or use pass and play for two people sharing the same device. The focus is on the board, the words and your next move rather than on extra distractions around the game.
Like the other Square apps, Square Words is intended to be something you can enjoy without constantly being encouraged to come back. There are no ads, social feeds or attention-grabbing mechanics. Play for a while, use your brain, then put it away again.

Designed for unusual devices
Square Words is designed to work naturally on physical-keyboard phones such as the Titan 2 Elite, adapt properly to compact displays and remain usable on normal Android phones and tablets. It follows the same distraction-free design principles as Square Chess and Square Sudoku.
